Floating Sandal + Floating Bed

A glimpse at the gouache drawings I've been working on in spare time.

Spring at My House

A Long Romantic Walk... ...with My iPod

Today was beautiful! I went for the longest walk I've been on in a long time. I walked in flip-flops from my house to the Capitol, to campus, and back home. It felt good to be warm and walking outside in flip-flops. There was a fresh supply of good music piping into my brain and I thought about so many things.

I also made tabbouleh and looked at a sublet. It turns out that I knew one of the potential housemates from Latin dancing on Tuesday nights; Madison is small.

Keeping Track of Everyday Stuff

I went to the doctor today for my allergies. While there, I learned that milk (4 glasses) is recommended in our diets because of the dairy industry; water is much better for us. Soy milk is a tofu by-product, and even if organic, may contain genetically modified soy beans. How are genetically altered soy beans organic? Getting 15 minutes of sun daily (it provides much needed Vitamin D) is beneficial and can prevent several kinds of cancer. I made an appointment for acupuncture: Monday. It was a good day to clean out my car, fill up the tank ($$), get the oil changed, remove the moldy floor mats, and refresh that great machine of mine; to send letters to Chile; to eat a cucumber sandwich; look for sublets.

This stupid stuff actually makes me feel ok.

Taqueria Guadalajara

Taqueria Guadaljara is even a great place to go eat on a Friday night. I went out with a new friend of mine, Fernando, and found it wonderful: with good company and plenty of time to relax and stay late. There were families there and we watched the kids play on the counter stools, trying to figure out what game they were playing. It was full of Spanish and great Mexican food and laughing. It felt like part of what I miss so much from my family in Chile--the part that I love.

Friday Lunch

One of my favorite Madison activities is the Friday lunch date with Jim Escalante and Tracy Honn. On Fridays we go to a mexican border town for food. Jim drives really really fast! [We go to the best Mexican eatery in Madison, Taqueria Guadalajara, on S. Park Street.]
